It was a very busy 10 days...so busy that it didn't even feel like 10 days. It started as soon as we got there with lunch at El Pollo loco, a haircut for me, and dinner at Heritage! We then got settled in for the week and enjoyed the evening at home.
Thursday "the Juniors" as Trenton calls them came over to play. Juliana brought the kids over and we were able to spend the whole day with them. We took the kids to lunch where they could play on a playground while Juli, Heather and I got to catch up. We then continued our conversation at Mom's until they had to leave.
Friday Mom decided her foot felt well enough to take a trip to South Coast Plaza and do a little "Easter Dress" Shopping! I had a good time at Talbots trying on all sorts of things. After we found a couple of cute skirts we had some lunch at Ruby's!
I love to go to Ruby's! Of course, with Grandma being there, the boys each got a shake to go with their lunch. Trenton enjoyed his strawberry one, and Nickolas enjoyed his chocolate shake so much that he was not very happy when Mommy took it away because he was trying to eat it with a fork!

Nick came over a little early to pick up Nickolas and they dyed their Easter eggs with Heather. It was funny to watch Nickolas just throw the egg into the dye and then want to take it out right away. As usual, as long as Braxton feels like he is part of the festivities...he is just happy to be there!

Later that night we went over to Amber and Dre's house to hang out there for a while. They were getting ready to head out to Amber's parents place in Palm Springs, so when Bunny and Dale showed up to pick them up, they issued the invitation for us to follow the next day. So...
Saturday we spent the day in Palm Springs with the Mayfield's and the Houston's! It was about an hour and a half drive out there and Mom was kind of nervous thinking about me driving out there with the boys by myself...but they were both so good in the car that it was actually a nice drive. When we got out there Am and I took the boys to McDonald's for lunch and then went back to the condo. They were able to go swimming in the pool that was right out the sliding door of the condo.

Of course, being as creative as Am is, she had lots of activities planned for the boys for the rest of the days. Trenton, Aidan and Jackson all got to make an eggs nest out of play-dough and sticks that we had gone to collect. They actually all turned out really cute and the boys loved it. Braxton was to interested in all that was going on that as long as he could see what was happening at the table he was content!

After Jackson and Braxton fell asleep, Trenton and Aidan then moved on to dying and painting some eggs. They were so creative and had such a good time together. They did so well sharing the dye and paint together. They then moved on to making sugar cookies, but I don't think very many of them made it into the oven. As soon as the boys placed the dough on the
Wednesday Heather and I decided we were going to be brave and take the three boys to California Adventure. Disney was running a special that Southern California residents could buy; we bought a day pass and were able to use it for two days! It was a little slow at first with both of us pushing a stroller and me wearing Braxton in a carrier. We took the boys to a play area where they both had fun on all the slides, even Heather got into the fun!

We went on Monsters Inc. and saw the Playhouse Disney show. Nick was nice enough to come and save us when he got off work. It was much easier having an adult for each child, although Nick usually had two at a time!
Nickolas was so tired that he fell asleep holding a piece of sourdough bread we had gotten from that tour. He was trying so hard to not sleep that he would raise his eyebrows just to try and keep his eyes open...it was great!
As he slept we went into the It's A Bugslife Land and rode all the rides with Trenton. We rode the caterpillar ride, the bumper cars, and even the spinning ladybug ride. I thought I was going to throw up on that one, Trenton was laughing so hard that he had to hold onto my leg cause he couldn't keep himself up.

The boys did so well and we ended up staying until the park closed!

Thursday was finally a day of rest. All the boys were so tired that we actually got them all to take a nap at the same time and they were down for probably about 2 hours. Mom, Heather and I caught up on the shows from the week and enjoyed the piece and quiet. Everyday Mom has to do her excercises to help her regain movement in her toes after her surgury. One of these exercises is picking up marbles with her toes and putting them back in the mug. The boys enjoyed helping Grandma with this every morning!
Friday I started to pack things up and get ready to come home. I was supposed to meet my Kindergarted best friend for lunch...we have not seen eachother since my wedding. Things didn't work out for her that morning, so she cancelled at the last minute. So....Mom, Heather and I decided we had to do a little more shopping. We had a great time at Old Navy, and had a good lunch at El Pollo Loco (can't get enough of that place!) We found the cutest outfits for the boys, and Grandma thought they should all match all the way down to the shoes! They didn't have shoes small enough for Braxton, but it was still cute to see him included in the fun!
When we got home the boys took another deserved nap and then I was able to take Trenton and Braxton over to Grandma and Grandpa Crawford's house for a few hours. They were kind enough to keep the boys for me so I could go back to Mom's and do some laundry and pack. (Josh called while I was gone and told me that the washer would not drain and I was coming home to a broken washing machine...so I tried to go home with clean clothes!) Trenton had a great time watching Fox and the Hound for the first time, having yummy turkey dinner, and playing clay with Grandpa. He was so excited to go over and was even more excited for me to leave! Braxton had a good time trying to drink water from a water bottle and had soaked all his clothes!
Saturday we got up early and headed to Disneyland for our second day. Dad, Heather and I took Braxton and Trenton. It was in the 80's and not very crowded at all. We got there about 9:00 in the morning and had to leave by 4:00 in order to catch our flight. In that time we were able to ride all the rides that we wanted to, and Trenton even got to ride the Matterhorn for the first time! He had such a good time he raised his hands high as long as I was still holding him around the waist! Last year when we took Trenton to Disneyland he tried to get on the Star Tours ride, but they told him he was too short. Since he was tall enough to ride the Matterhorn we thought we would go see if he was tall enough for Star Tours. He was just barely below the bar and the worker told him his head had to touch it. As the worker turned around to get something Trenton went up on his tipy toes so that when he looked back his head was touching to bar! It was so sad to see him try so hard on his own to get on the ride. As we walked away he was holding Heather's hand on our way to the Toy Story ride and all of the sudden he quickly turns around and runs to me with tears falling down his cheeks. He was trying to be such a big boy and not cry. He said "I was just trying to be tall, but he still told me no". I wanted to go back and try to sneek him on and hope they didn't check his heigth, but we didn't. Then off to airport to arrive home at 10:00 pm!
WOW.....what a very busy time. We had so much fun and we are so grateful for the generosity of Mom and Dad as they house, feed and keep us entertained! So, now for our California family to come to Utah and party with us in 3 weeks for Josh's big day. Just 20 more days...but who is counting???
