Monroe

Jenn invited us and the Woodies to come for a visit in Monroe. She said she thought it would be fun to go to her Aunts cabin and stay there for a few days. Fun! We were on our way...little did I realize that the cabin was out in the middle of nowhere and we were going to be "camping" Tiffany style! What is "Tiffany Style" camping? Basic really...a bed, and running water! We really did have a good time, but next time I need to ask more questions about how remote we are really going to be. Maybe then I will come prepared with the right type of shoes!
We really did have a good time! The kids loved being able to just be outside, pick up sticks, run in the dirt, and see what they could see! Trenton was my little scavenger. He came running back to the house telling me he had found some bones. I wasn't sure I really believed him, so he took me out with him. Sure enough, he found an entire skeleton of some sort of animal! He was really good about not touching it, but went on to tell me what part of the body he thought each bone was. He is such a smart boy!

Of course the weekend that we decide to go we got rained on! It made for a bit of a chilly adventure, but it was still fun. The cabin was heated by a wood stove, so the guys got to chop up some wood for us to keep warm. Braxton didn't particularly enjoy when it was actively weathering, so when he got caught outside in it he would cower under some leaves, but he mostly stayed inside where it was warm!

Apparently Josh had a little bit better of an idea where we were going and getting ourselves into. He snuck his BB gun into the car and helped each of the kids take their turn shooting at cans and other targets. They were all very good about following the rules when guns were out! We enjoyed a camp fire, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows...that is until we got rained out!

Jenn and Josey brought some four wheelers for us to use while we were out. The kids loved getting on these in between the rain and we actually had a really nice ride one night as we went out looking for Elk. We were lucky enough to find a herd and see other wild life while we were out. I got my fill of driving on rocky terrain! I was a little nervous since I had Braxton on the front of me and Lexi behind me. They both did really well and didn't freak out too much as we dipped and dropped around the rocks!

We had such a good time just being with each other! The boys loved being with their cousins, and spending quality time together! We are already talking about going next year. Hopefully for a little longer, with a bit warmer whether, and the correct shoes!
