Girls Gone Wild

What originally started out being a quick one day trip to Vegas to see "The Lion King", ended up being an entire weekend of Girls Gone Wild (G rated of course) thanks to the push of our husbands! Erin and I had planned quick girls trip for our birthdays, and literally 3 hours before we left, our husbands kicked us out on Friday night! Since we left after dinner, we decided to only drive as far as Mesquite. Wow...did we find a great (scary) place to stay! All the doors were open to the outside of the building, so really anyone could come up to the door. To top it off, in our room, right next to the beds was a door that only opened from one side...and it was not ours. Not a complete big deal, but the fact that we were on the end unit, and a light came on around 1 in the morning, was a little un-nerving. So, the smart person I am, I set a booby trap and put our chair in front of the door. This of course, detouring anyone that might want to enter our room from their side, it being the one with the doorknob and lock! Needless to say...we were very excited to get out of there and moving on to our next stop!
The car ride was very enjoyable without children in the back asking if we were there yet! We spent the entire time just talking, sharing stories and just enjoying each other's company!
When we arrived in Vegas our first stop was the outdoor mall. We did a little shopping, but a must was a stop at Starbucks so I could introduce Erin to the cream based pumpkin spice frappe, double blended, with extra Carmel!!! I made her a fan!Our night in Henderson included a relaxation in the hot tub. Unfortunately, it was a little too hot, and didn't last very long.We finally hit the strip on Sunday morning and enjoyed taking pictures at all the "touristy" places! We had to get a picture with Spiderman and show it to our boys when we got home! And of course, you have to stop by the M&M store while you are there! They had the coolest display of art made of flowers. Everything you saw was made of flowers and was amazing. This was the weird talking tree that was in the middle of the flower display!Along with the original idea of going to Vegas to see "The Lion King" my personal travel agent found that The Golden Nugget had been updated and had a cool swim area. This three level swimming area included a slide that went right thru the middle of a shark tank. It was the coolest swimming area I had been in! We enjoyed a couple of rides down the slide, some swimming right outside the tank, and of course a little bit of R&R poolside! The highlight of the trip was going to see the Broadway musical of "The Lion King"! Yes, this was my third time seeing it, but well worth it yet again!
So on our way to Vegas we stopped in St. George and did a little shopping. Erin talked me into a pair of 6" heels that I of course had to wear on our night out. Wow...was that a crazy mistake! We accidentally parked over a mile and a half away from the hotel the show was in. As we were casually walking there Erin decided to ask what time it was, and we realized we had less than 12 minutes to get there before the show started. The heels came off and we booked it the rest of the way, running until we got there. I am pleased to say that we made it by showtime, just barely, and ran the mile and a half in less than 12 minutes (me with bare feet)...we rock! Of course Erin had to get a picture of me with my cool new shoes...that were not on my feet. But what was on my feet???? I hope to never really know. I was so sicked out and embarrassed by the bottom of my feet. All Erin could do was laugh until she cried all her makeup off!We had such a good time together! We have decided that taking a weekend off is a must once a year! What will it be next year???? Vegas again! Ticket vouchers already bought, now just the decision of what to go see????
